GEME at Soil, Water and Climate in Balance

Symposium: Soil, Water and Climate in Balance by CoE Groen
In April 2025, GEME participated in the Soil, Water and Climate in Balance symposium, organized by CoE Groen—a unique coalition of four Dutch universities of applied sciences dedicated to innovation in the green domain. The event brought together researchers, educators, policymakers, and entrepreneurs to exchange insights on regenerative agriculture, climate resilience, and circular systems. It served as a cross-sector platform to co-develop practical, knowledge-driven solutions for global environmental challenges.

GEME can do more
At the event, GEME shared its perspective on the vital link between organic waste treatment and soil regeneration. In an insightful exchange with Prof. Emiel Elferink, the role of compost as a biodiversity enhancer and soil health catalyst was emphasized. Our team also discussed the potential impact of our odorless, smart composting systems in sensitive environments such as hospitals—highlighted through a dialogue with Brussels HUB Hospital’s Dr. David Bergemann. These conversations reinforced GEME’s mission to empower local communities, institutions, and businesses in transforming food waste into a resource for ecosystem renewal.
