How long the GEME should take to breakdown raw food such as fruit and vegetable skins?

I have a question for how long the GEME should take to breakdown raw food such as fruit and vegetable skins.

Our GEME is getting close to the fill line so I would like to clear out some of the excess compost.

However even no putting in any food scraps for more than 24 hours there is still a significant amount of food waste that I can’t really retrieve even a small shovel full without having to manually pick out the food scraps even though we cut all of our food scraps down to 1-2 inches pieces.

I’m going to wait another 24 hours and still if I have more success.
